Create your own floral-inspired mixed media artwork

Come and spend a creative afternoon in my studio during Open Studios Weekend!

In this fun, hands-on workshop, I’ll introduce you to some of the techniques I’ve been using in my latest collection. You’ll create your own floral-inspired mixed media painting while experimenting with collage, stencils, bubble wrap, gold leaf and layers of paint and texture.

This is about experimenting, getting creative and having fun—not creating a perfect copy of my work. You’ll be encouraged to make the piece your own and discover techniques you can continue using in your own art practice.

Limited places

I'm keeping this workshop small, with a maximum of 10 participants, so there's plenty of space to create, experiment and get individual guidance when you need it.

Come spend three hours in the studio, get a little messy, try something new and leave with a piece of art you've made yourself.

The Details

What We'll Be Doing

Over three relaxed hours, we'll explore:

  • Collage and layering
  • Stencils and mark-making
  • Bubble wrap for texture and pattern
  • Gold leaf
  • Painting techniques for building depth and interest
  • Combining different materials and textures

I'll guide you through the process step-by-step, but there will be plenty of room to experiment and follow your own creative instincts.

What You'll Take Home

You'll leave with:

  • Your own finished 10" x 10" mixed media painting
  • A collection of new techniques to experiment with
  • Plenty of inspiration to take into your own art practice

Beginners are very welcome. You don't need any previous painting experience or drawing skills—I'll guide you through everything you need to know.

If you've been wanting to try mixed media but don't know where to start, this is a great opportunity to have a play without needing to figure it all out yourself.

If you're already an artist, you'll have the opportunity to experiment with new techniques and add some fresh ideas to your creative toolkit.
